THE HERBALIST YASO GIN YUZU
YASO GIN Yuzu is a new addition to the THEHERBALIS T YASO GIN series, a gin that combines the lustrous aroma of yuzu and the rich bitterness of its peel with the flavor of juniper berries. In addition to yuzu peel and juniper berries, we have added Japanese-inspired botanicals such as sansho, daikon, and tea, as well as Western spices such as coriander seeds and cinnamon leaves. This gives the yuzu a depth of flavor and allows the drink to be enjoyed in harmony with the other botanicals while still retaining a strong yuzu flavor. YASO GIN Yuzu, like the other regular products, is a blend of several parts distilled separately. Only juniper berries are macerated, and the distilled parts and yuzu peel are packed in paskets.
Juniper berries are soaked in a larger quantity than usual in basal spirits the day before and then distilled to extract more juniper flavor. The yuzu degree was distilled in this way to reproduce a more yuzu-like aroma. Shiso leaves, sansho (Japanese pepper), cinnamon leaves, and coriander seeds are each distilled by reduced-pressure distillation to bring out the aroma of the ingredients themselves. By changing the distillation method for each botanical, as shown in the following table, we extracted aromas and flavors that are close to the ideal, and then pre-distilled them to create THE HERBALIS T YASO GIN YUZU, with attention to detail in the fine aroma nuances and flavor balance.
When mixed with tonic, the rich bitterness of the yuzu peel is enhanced, while the juicy flavor of juniper berries spreads out to create a fruity gin and tonic. A refreshing soda with the flavor of yuzu, sansho (Japanese pepper) and coriander also good. With hot water, the aroma of yuzu spreads, and the bitterness of the peel and juniper berry flavor create a relaxing and soothing drink. White chocolate and dried fruits are recommended to accompany this gin.
