
Nestled between the Seto Inland Sea to the south and the Chugoku Mountains to the north, the Sakurao Distillery is located in the city of Hatsukaichi. This exceptional geographic location accelerates the ageing process, with the breeze from the sea and the crisp, cooler air from the surrounding mountains. After being matured in Bourbon barrels, this limited release is finished in Sauternes wine casks, carefully selected by the stillman to add a distinctive fruity aroma and unique sweetness.The whisky opens with top notes of ripe peaches, followed by a rich, - honeylike sweetness from the Sauternes cask.
Enveloped in a soft peated aroma reminiscent of sea breezes drifting into the oceanside Sakurao warehouse, it finishes with a pleasant lingeing aftertaste.
