“The Lucky Cat” is a series of blended whiskeys crafted using Mars Whisky’s blending expertise, featuring a variety of unique cats as motifs.
The eleventh installment in the series, “The Lucky Cat ‘Sora’,” is a blended whiskey characterized by flavors derived from chestnut cask-matured spirit—evoking Sora’s coat color and still-mischievous personality—and Spanish oak sherry cask-matured spirit.
k.Hombo: “In mid-June, on a rainy Sunday, my wife contacted me, and a cute maroon-cream-colored kitten arrived at our home. ‘He was crying in the bushes by the roadside—maybe he got separated from his mother…’ she said. After taking him to the vet, we learned he was a male, about two months old. It’s been a while since we’ve had a boy! Hoping he’ll grow up like the sun shining in the vast sky, we named him ‘SOLLA (Sora).’ It’s been about four months since he became part of our family, and he’s eating well and growing strong, but it looks like it’ll be a little while longer before our resident “older sisters” accept him… (laughs). This blended whiskey captures the image of Sora’s coat color and his still-mischievous personality, featuring flavors derived from malt whiskey aged in chestnut barrels and Spanish oak sherry casks.”
